The 1991 Fishing Trip

Maple Crest Cabins, Rideau Ferry, Ontario

The Big Rideau and The Tay Canal

Just minutes away from Phil's cottage in Perth is The Maple Crest Lodge and the Rideau water system. Cruising the beautiful Big Rideau and the Tay Canal, this water system has some of the most beautiful scenery in Canada. The Tay Locks operated by Parks Canada are the only manually operated locks in Canada. The area also has excellent smallmouth fishing, but as with most of our fishing trips, smallmouth season opened a few days after our fishing trip.

Al, Ron, Kevin

After many years of pleading, Kevin Cross finally treated us to his culinary expertise. We had stuffed mushrooms, stuffed jumbo shrimp and softshell crab.

Fishermen on the trip included Ron Malloff, Ron Zinn, Phil Anderson, Al Heaney Al Macintyre, Kevin Cross and Curt Bowles.
