The 1993 Fishing Trip

Pourvoirie Beau Site, Lefaivre, Ontario

A new outfitter on the Ottawa River

Pourvoirie Beau Site in Lefaivre, Ontario. A new fishing spot on the Ottawa River run by Bob and Denise. The place was found by the 1993 organizer, Curt Bowles.

The area is a great location for fishing on the Ottawa River. Bob took us to his favourite fishing spots and Denise cooked up our catch of the day. Together, in the early evening, they made us a "fire-camp" before our game of cards.

Marc Riopelle

A few record fish were caught on this trip. Al Heaney caught the biggest fish ever caught on a fishing trip. The carp weighed in at just under 30 pounds. This is record that has stood into the 21st century. Marc Riopelle caught a 14-pound pike which is also a record for the largest pike on a fishing trip.

We were joined by Tommy Hansen and Mike Lazarus on Saturday night for a friendly game of cards. We did not know it at the time, but this would be Tommy Hansen's last fishing trip before moving to New Brunswick.

Fishermen on the 1993 trip included Phil Anderson, Curt Bowles, Tommy Hansen, Al Heaney, Warren Kidd, Al Macintyre, Ron Malloff, Marc Riopelle, and Ron Zinn.
