The 1992 Fishing Trip

Red Haven on Dalhousie Lake

Our cheapest fishing trip ever!

Rita Duncan's Red Haven Lodge on Dalhousie Lake was the cheapest fishing trip ever. A real fishing lodge with no running water, the place cost 25 bucks per person for the four day trip! Being a small lake in southern Ontario, there were no trophies or monsters caught here. Carvings on the walls inside Red Haven indicated that some Americans from decades ago caught some very large fish in this lake. Each of us managed to catch a few small walleyes and pike.

Being the winner of the canette in 1991, Ron Zinn organized the trip. The entire weekend was cold and rainy, but Kevin Cross kept us warm with his gourmet cooking. Soft shell crab and stuffed mushrooms never tasted better!
