Sometimes unintentional accidents happen

Orleans, Ontario will never be the same. It was the fishing trip that almost didn't happen. Early planning didn't happen, so we ended up staying at Curt's place in Orleans and fishing on the Ottawa River. Fishing on the Ottawa is always excellent, but for some reason, Curt told us to never come back.

We have learned that when the beer is flowing, unintentional accidents sometimes happen. The 1998 trip marked the beginning of Curt's friend rating system. Guys who refuse to empty an ashtray or leave a beer bottle on the table get bumped down on the scale and could be barred from Curt's for up to a year or more. A guy rated 0-100 has done something really bad, like unintentionally breaking a beer bottle, and are barred from Curt's for an unlimited amount of time.

Fishermen on the 1998 trip included Phil Anderson, Al Davis, Al Heaney, Billy Hum, Warren Kidd, Al Macintyre, Ron Malloff and Ron Zinn.
