Fassett, Quebec - Vacation spot of hillbillies, joes, and people too cheap to go to Montebello. The weather on this weekend was brutal with thundershowers most of the trip and tornados forecast for Saturday. It was one of those fishing trips where we stayed in and played cards.
On the trip, we were introduced to Al the Robot. A true Omnibot robot, Al became famous for his foul mouth and hatred of bald guys. He entertained us all weekend and brought us pints, shots and smokes.
The weather cleared enough on Sunday morning for us to get in a couple of hours of fishing. Not many fish were caught in the short time that we had, but Whop did manage to pull in a 6-pound northern pike to win the canette. Our cabins were like a size of a home laundry room. Like the Woman in the bar that everyone does just once, Étoile du Nord is one of those places that we will visit just once. Who found this place anyway? Was it Macintyre?
Players and fishermen on the 1997 trip included Phil Anderson, Al Davis, Warren Kidd, Al Macintyre and Ron Zinn.
