The 1999 Fishing Trip

Pourvoirie Riviere La Lievre, Val-des-Bois, Quebec

It looked great but we got stiffed

Well, La Pourvoirie Riviere La Lievre looked excellent, the accommodations were superb and the club sandwiches at the restaurant were the best! When we arrived, we were told the fishing would be great, but we got stiffed. Some said it was the low water level that was to blame for the poor fishing. Others said it was the moon faze, but there were not many fish. No one caught much of anything.

The 1999 Group Photo

We cruised up and down Riviere La Lievre and there were spots that looked amazing but there were no fish. We cruised up some tributaries of La Lievre into places that looked like no human had ever been there. Totally amazing views and amazing scenery but no fish anywhere! In the end, Ron Malloff was the week-end winner with a 3 pound northern pike.

Fishermen on the 1999 trip included Phil Anderson, Al Davis, Al Heaney, Billy Hum, Warren Kidd, Al Macintyre, Ron Malloff and Ron Zinn.

In the months leading up to the trip, organizer Ron prepared two informational newsletters:
The Feb 1, 1999 Newsletter
The May 1, 1999 Newsletter
